PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND MATHEMATICS!
In class, we learned the difference between seconds, minutes, and hours.
We know that there are 60 seconds in a minute and 60 minutes in an hour!
Think back! What did you do last week in P.E.?
Yes! You ran a mile!
HOME ACTIVITY
STEP ONE:
Recall your mile time.
For example: 9 minutes and 48 seconds.
STEP TWO:
Convert your mile time to
seconds
.
I want to know how many
seconds
it took you to complete your mile!
(Remember: For every 1 minute, there are 60 seconds!)
Language support:
Once you have converted your time to seconds, write your time in standard number form and word form.
(For example: 567 seconds-five hundred and sixty seven seconds)
Assignment will be due Friday, May 1, 2012.
Modified instruction to enrich learning is highlighted in yellow.
Standards:
MA.K.G.5.1: Demonstrate an understanding of the concept of time
